  • Remove a sample scent disk from its box and apply it to the horse’s nose in an “M” shape around the nostrils. The scent is strong enough that, if the scent is preferred, most horses will show relaxation signals within 15 minutes of the application.

    Watch for: slow blinking, deeper breathing, blowing out/snorting, licking & chewing, dropping the head, and overall relaxation. Remove a scent with a wet towelette and wait 5 minutes with no scent between testing different scents, or test on different days.
